SBV operates from two sites at Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough is our head office and principal location for the management and manufacture of fabrication projects. The site is 2.4 acres, with a 2,200 sq meters (23,000 sq feet), 18m high fabrication facility with additional large lay-down areas. Lifting capacity is 2 x 15t and 1 x 30t.

In 2009 SBV commissioned an 11,000 sq.ft. large scale stainless steel fabrication facility at Middlesbrough, completely segregated from all from carbon steel fabrication to avoid mixed material and cross contamination. This facility has been used principally for fabrication and pipework projects with nuclear applications, but it is equally well suited to other sectors.

The Middlesbrough site is well situated, with good road and deep water port and quayside access. The availability of additional high quality space within close proximity to the site allows a flexible and tailored approach to varying customer requirements.

Hartlepool

Hartlepool specialises in large scale machining, as well as assembly and fabrication, with a specific emphasis on quick turnaround breakdown and maintenance work.

Comprising 50,000 sq. ft., the availability of integrated fabrication and machining offers significant flexibility and responsiveness for our customers. This has been successfully demonstrated on a number of key supplier programmes for series components and by the on-demand repair, refurbishment and maintenance of plant and equipment provided by our mechanical engineering capability.

The specialist nature of the machining is well suited to non-CNC and very large components and small to medium scale series production. Capacity ranges from small lathes to very large vertical and horizontal borers, milling, and lathes. Our supply chain is also configured to offer CNC components in conjunction with non-CNC parts and fabrications. The site has multiple lift capacity up to 30t, with a hook height of 12 metres and a span of 12 metres.
